dang,mj, dang...
With such a tragic death, I'm sure the world's bloggers are all online clamoring at the chance to add their two cents. Even though I'm new at this I don't wanna write about the same stuff everyone else is. How unoriginal. But I'm touched so I'm gonna just say what i gotta say - briefly. Because as shocking as his death is, a feeling a relief is outweighing my grief. He struck me as being so lonely and so confused in this world. He was, from my point of view, a prisoner of his own success and wealth. Some feeling in the pit of my stomach tells me he's not suffering anymore. Don't get me wrong, I clearly remember dancing to his music in my parents basement. I mean, hello, spinning records. I remember having his doll (who exclusively dated my black Barbie; black Ken wasn't cutting it. Had this weird Afro thing going on.) Posters on my wall. Dreaming about meeting him. Waiting up way past my bedtime to see him perform at the Grammy's. But THAT Michael left me a long time ago and since then his existence seemed to have been more pain than joy. So at the risk of sounding cliche I sincerely hope MJ does...rest in peace.
